“I’m passionate about helping people understand how important good nutrition is to our short-term and long-term health; not just our waistlines.”
Heather Wakefield is a Regional Sales Director at Zipongo. Heather supports our Southeast sales efforts, working with employers to create healthier environments for their employees. Heather has spent more than nine years leading health and wellness initiatives like tobacco cessation, biometric screening and coaching programs for a variety of organizations. Hearing success stories from people who have benefitted from these programs is what Heather enjoys most about working in the health and wellness industry.
1. Tell us why you joined Zipongo.
I’m no different than anyone else who has to make decisions about what I eat and how that will impact my health. I’m also passionate about helping people understand how important good nutrition is to our short-term and long-term health; not just our waistlines. I believe Zipongo approaches nutrition differently — by helping individuals reframe and redesign their personal food environments.
2. What are you most proud of, personal or career-wise?
I strive to become a trusted advisor to my prospects and clients, and work with them to achieve the outcomes they desire. A very proud moment was when a former client took the time to send a letter to my CEO (unbeknownst to me) and share why he liked working with me and how he felt that we were true partners. It was like receiving a report card with all A+’s.
3. What’s your favorite restaurant in San Francisco?
I can’t pass up the chance to eat at Zuni Cafe. Their roasted chicken and bread salad is my favorite.
4. Can you share something that ranks high on your bucket list?
Most of my bucket list items tend to focus on international travel and experiences. But an item that’s closer to home (and one I expect to mark off the list this coming year) is to experience a concert at Red Rocks.
